Fotopedia

I’ve decided to try out Fotopedia after reading an article about from TechCrunch. It’s an interesting concept and one that tailors to my style of work, photography. The question is, can I use it as a networking tool by getting more of my photos out on the net for people to see. That’s what I’m looking to find out.

Here’s the basics so far. Fotopedia is classifying itself as: the first collaborative photo encyclopedia. Think of it as a visual Wikipedia. The process of getting started for this social network is: Sign up for an account (free). Download their app that allows you to create albums, upload photos, etc. Create an album, insert photos, add relevant information, then wait on the community to see if it gets inserted into the main frontend encyclopedia.

The interface is pretty well done and display of photos and content are simple enough to be effective. I’ll play around with it some more and see how it does.
